Upwork's Boosted Proposal feature allows eligible freelancers and agencies to bid extra Connects to secure one of four top spots in a client's proposal list. Boosting increases your visibility and significantly improves your chances of getting a reply from potential clients.
When you enable this feature in Getmany, we automatically boost proposals on jobs that meet your specified minimum Getmany Score threshold, helping you compete for the most promising opportunities without manual intervention.
In this guide:
How Getmany Handles Boosting
Once configured, Getmany boosts proposals based on the minimum Getmany Score you've set. When a job meets or exceeds your threshold, we automatically boost your proposal using your predefined amount of Connects.
By default, we submit proposals within 1-5 minutes of a job posting, which often places you first in the boosting auction. Being the first to boost means your proposal appears at the very top of the client's list, giving you maximum visibility when it matters most.
βΉοΈ Keep in mind that proposal rankings are dynamic. Other freelancers can outbid you at any time, which may lower your position in the list. While we can't guarantee you'll maintain the top spot, our speed gives you a strong competitive advantage in the early stages of the auction.
Setting Up Proposal Boosting
You can find these settings in your Bidding Settings under the Terms & Boosting section (Step 2). Scroll down to find the Proposal Boosting settings, where you'll need to complete three key configurations.
Fixed Boosting Connects
First, choose how many Connects you want to spend per boosted proposal. Getmany will always bid this fixed amount, regardless of what other competitors are bidding. This ensures consistent budgeting and prevents unexpected spikes in your Connect usage.
Daily Boosting Budget
Next, set the maximum number of Connects you're willing to spend per day on boosting. This daily cap helps you maintain control over your spending and prevents accidental overspending during periods of high job volume.
Target Getmany Score
Finally, define the minimum Getmany Score a job must have before we boost your proposal. The default threshold is 4.5, but you can adjust this anywhere from 1 to 5 based on your preferences.
π‘ We recommend keeping your target score at 4 or higher to focus on quality opportunities and avoid wasting Connects on less promising jobs.
βΉοΈ Currently, Getmany calculates the score and handles boosting automatically. In future updates, you'll have the ability to customize which factors matter most to you when evaluating jobs and clients.
Understanding the Getmany Score
The Getmany Score is our proprietary algorithm that ranks Upwork jobs based on quality and potential value. It analyzes multiple factors including job scope, budget, description quality, client feedback history, total platform spending, and location.
By combining these elements, the Getmany Score provides a comprehensive quality assessment at a glance, helping you focus your boosting budget on the opportunities most likely to lead to successful engagements.
