The Jobs Preview section is your central hub for discovering and managing job opportunities on Upwork. This guide will walk you through how to use this tool effectively, from understanding what appears in your feed to troubleshooting why certain opportunities might not show up and applying for jobs outside your filters.
In this guide:
What is Jobs Preview?
Jobs Preview is your real-time feed of job opportunities that match your Scanner settings. By default, this section displays jobs from the last 15 days, with options to extend to 30 or 90 days available on higher-tier plans. The feed updates instantly: as soon as a job is published on Upwork, it appears in your feed within seconds.
Reading Job Cards
Each job card shows the essential information at a glance: the job title, a preview of the description, category, required skills, budget, and the number of Connects required to submit a proposal.
You'll also see important client details including their location, Upwork rating, total amount spent, and payment method verification status.
Additionally, each job displays its Getmany Score, which helps you filter jobs and evaluate clients more effectively. Learn more about how this score works in our Getmany Score article.
Click on any job card to view the complete details, including the full description, additional freelancer requirements, and extended client information. You can also copy the job link or open it directly on Upwork with a single click.
Which Jobs Appear in Your Feed
Jobs Preview shows only the opportunities that match your selected categories, keywords, and configured filters, and that were published within your selected timeframe (15 days by default).
For convenience, keywords are highlighted in yellow throughout the job title, description, and required skills, making them easy to spot.
Which Jobs Are Filtered Out
Jobs that don't match your categories, keywords, or filters won't appear in your feed. Jobs older than 15 days (or your selected timeframe) are also filtered out automatically.
Finding Missing Jobs
If you're wondering why a specific job didn't show up in your feed, use the Find in Jobs Preview feature. Simply paste the Upwork URL or job title into the search field, and you'll get a detailed explanation of why that job wasn't included. This helps you fine-tune your Scanner settings to catch similar opportunities in the future.
Applying Outside Your Filters
You can apply to promising opportunities even if they fall outside your regular filter settings. Just click the Apply Now button in the top right corner of any job card, and the system will submit your proposal within minutes.
