The Insights feature on Getmany is designed to help you better understand the Upwork marketplace and refine your freelancing strategies. With three powerful tools — All Jobs, Connects Price, and Keyword Insights — you can uncover trends, enhance your skills, and increase your visibility to clients. Let’s break it down!
How to Access Insights?
Go to the Insights section near the Jobs Preview page.
1. All Jobs: Evaluate Market Trends
This chart helps you assess the overall job volume on Upwork and how much of the market you’re covering.
For example, if the market has 165 jobs per month and you currently target 100 jobs, you’re covering about 60% of available opportunities. Expanding your filters or adjusting your targeting strategy could help you tap into the remaining 40%, increasing your chances of getting replies and hires.
Tracking this number over time allows you to spot trends, such as peak hiring months or slow periods, helping you plan your bidding efforts more effectively.
Note: The data reflects all skills and excludes filters. This provides a broad understanding of job availability.
2. Connects Price: Track Costs
Knowing how many Jobs you can apply to is only half the equation — you also need to budget for Connects.
If 165 jobs require an average of 17 Connects each, you’ll need:
165 × 17 = 2,805 Connects per month
With Connects priced at $0.15 each, that totals:
2,805 × $0.15 = $420,75 per month
If you run 10 Job Searches, simply multiply these numbers to estimate your total lead generation expenses on Upwork.
With these insights, you can forecast costs, optimize your budget, and improve your ROI, ensuring you spend efficiently while maximizing job opportunities.
Tip: The current month’s data will be added once it’s complete, so check back regularly.
3. Keyword Insights: Unlock Top Skills
This feature analyzes the most common skills listed in jobs that match your Job Search criteria, helping you fine-tune your profile for better visibility and higher ranking.
How It Works
Each job contains a set of required skills. Your Upwork specialized profile also has skills listed. The more these match, the better your ranking in search results — without even using Boosting. This is what Upwork calls a Best Match profile.
For example, if your Job Search targets Back-End Development, but your specialized profile only highlights Python and TypeScript, Upwork may not see a strong match. However, by adjusting your profile’s skill list to include JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Database Architecture, API, and AWS, you can naturally improve your position in client searches.
How to Use This Data
Ensure Your Skills Align:
Check the Top Keywords in your Job Search and compare them with your specialized profile.
If jobs frequently mention "JavaScript," "PHP," or "MySQL," but your profile only lists "Python" and "TypeScript," update it to include these high-demand skills.
Monitor Skill Trends:
Skills change monthly based on client selections and Upwork’s algorithm.
Some keywords disappear, while new ones emerge. Regularly reviewing your Job Search allows you to stay relevant.
Optimize Every Month:
Visit the Insights page to track trending skills.
Add emerging skills that appear frequently.
Remove outdated skills that no longer show up in job descriptions.
By keeping your skills updated and aligned with job trends, you increase your chances of getting more replies, higher rankings, and ultimately more hires — without extra spending on Boosting.
