Before your Bidder can start sending proposals, you need to define two essential settings: who will send the proposals and when they should be sent. This guide walks you through both configurations.
In this guide:
π Finding the Settings
To access these settings, select the Scanner you want to configure in Scan & Bid, open the Bidding section, and go to Bidding Settings. These options appear as the first configuration step.
Proposal Sender Settings
This section determines which team member and profile will be used to send proposals.
Selecting Your Team and Freelancer
Start by selecting your team, then choose the freelancer who will send the proposals. Finally, select which freelancer profile to use: either the General Profile or Specialized Profile.
Using Specialized Profiles
We recommend using a Specialized Profile whenever possible. Unlike general profiles, specialized profiles allow you to add an unlimited number of skills. This provides two key advantages: better relevance for Upwork's algorithms and higher response rates due to precise skill matching with job requirements.
π If your Specialized Profile doesn't appear in the dropdown menu, click the sync icon to refresh the list and make it available for selection.
Invite Manager on Reply
You can also select a team member for the Invite Manager on Reply option. When enabled, this automatically adds the selected team member to the chat with the client when they respond to your proposal. This ensures smooth handoff and team collaboration from the first client interaction.
Bidding Schedule Settings
This section controls when your Bidder is active and sending proposals.
Schedule Options
You can choose between two options:
24/7 mode keeps your Bidder running continuously without breaks.
Custom mode gives you full control over your bidding schedule. When using Custom mode, select the days of the week you want to be active, set the timezone, and define the working hours.
