Step 1: Create a New Job Search

  1. Go to Job Search Engine tab.

  2. Click the Create new job search button.

Step 2: Enter Skills

Skills are necessary for the Job Search Engine to seek relevant postings.

  • Identify Your Skills: If your agency specializes in software development, you might list skills such as "JavaScript," "React," "Python," or "Ruby on Rails."

  • Enter Your Skills: Once you know the skills, type them into the job search.

ℹ️ Note: The more skills you enter, the narrower your pool of jobs will be. If you want to get as many jobs as possible, try creating multiple job searches for different skills.

Step 3: Filter Your Search

Refine your job search using the following filters to match your agency's preferences:

  • Job category: Select the industry or sector that fits your agency's services.

  • Duration: Choose between short-term or long-term projects.

  • Budget: Set a budget range that aligns with your agency's pricing model.

  • Client: Target jobs from clients in specific regions and specify your target client's hiring preferences.

Step 4: Create Multiple Searches

Once you've set up your first job search, you can create additional searches to explore different opportunities. Each search can be customized based on the same criteria mentioned above.

Creating multiple job searches allows you to cast a wider net and uncover varied opportunities aligning with your agency’s expertise. This strategy enhances visibility across a broader spectrum of projects and helps identify the most in-demand skills, enabling you to tailor your offerings to meet market needs efficiently.

Prioritization

The prioritization feature lets you select the most important Job Searches for your agency and manage bidding more easily. You can arrange Job Searches by their importance, from the most to the least important.

ℹ️ When multiple job searches are present, the one listed highest will take priority and automatically bid for the job. The remaining Job Searches will skip this job.

For example, let's say we have two job searches, React_1 and React_2. If a job matches the criteria for both, the prioritization feature ensures that the Job Search listed as higher gets priority. This means you can arrange your job searches by importance.

If a job appears in React_1 and React_2, the one listed higher will be used to bid for this job, ensuring the preferred cover letter is sent. This ensures that the most prioritized Job Search is the one that bids and submits the cover letter first.

Select the most important Job Searches and arrange them from most to least important in a top-down order.

Focused Search (Optional)

As an option, you can set up a focused search to prioritize searching by keywords in the title or description. It’s especially beneficial if your agency specializes in a highly specific area. Focused Search would pinpoint jobs mentioning particular skills or technologies that can help you find the most relevant opportunities.

Here, you can learn more about the benefits of Focused Search.

Tips for Using the Right Words

Research Keywords

Use tools like UberSuggest or Semrush to find relevant keywords. Review your past contracts on Upwork to identify commonly used keywords in job titles and descriptions.

Precise Targeting

Break down your keywords into more specific categories for targeted results. Instead of using a broad term like "software development," use "JS web development," "React native mobile app development," or "Python ML." This specificity helps attract projects that seek your precise skill set. Consider segmenting your searches by client locations or hiring preferences.

Job Search Results Explained

The job results shown after configuring your Job Search aim to help you understand the job market based on your search parameters.

Important: Getmany doesn't bid for jobs from the initial list.

Instead, it monitors new job postings that match your criteria and notifies you or auto-bid for them. You can always manually bid on a job from the initial Job Search results list through your Upwork account.

Next Steps

After setting up your job search, review the job previews to identify opportunities that match your skills and preferences. Then, set up bidding so you don't miss out on opportunities.
