Onboarding: Upwork Agency and Getmany Account Setup Guide

Learn how to create an Upwork Agency, set up your Getmany account, and invite a business manager to start bidding on and winning jobs.

Welcome to our onboarding guide! This document will walk you through several important steps to set up your profiles and accounts. Here are the main topics covered:

  1. Creating an Agency on Upwork

ℹ️ Note: Upwork requires creating a freelancer account before setting up an agency.

Step 1: Creating an Agency on Upwork

If you want to create an agency to help market the services of a team you’ve created, you’ll first need to create a freelancer account for the person who will be the agency owner.

  1. Log in to your freelancer's Upwork account

  2. Go to User Settings > Contact Info

  3. Scroll down to Additional accounts

  4. Select New Agency Account

  5. Type in your Agency name and click Continue.

  6. Go with Plus plan. The Plus plan allows adding unlimited teams and team members.

  7. Enter your credit card details and proceed with payment.

  8. Apply Promo Code, if any, and click Activate Agency Plus.

  9. Add a Billing Method and click Upgrade and Pay

ℹ️ A person can only “own” one agency on Upwork. You won’t be able to make another one.

After you create your agency, the Account Menu will allow you to switch between your personal and agency account views.

Step 2: Creating your Getmany Account

Welcome to Getmany! Here are 5 steps to get you started:

  1. Create account

  2. Select plan

  3. Select a business manager

  4. Invite them to your Upwork

  5. Tell us more about your agency

To create your account, follow Getmany invitation link you received via email.

  1. Create a password and click Next

  2. Click on View all plans to select the plan that best suits your agency.

  3. Enter your Email & card information and click Start trial.

👌🏻 You will only be charged once the trial period ends. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

4. Select a business manager and click Next.

ℹ️ The Business Manager is responsible for sending your proposals and contacting potential leads.

5. Invite a Business Manager to your Agency on Upwork. Proceed with the instructions on How to Invite a Business Manager to Your Upwork Account and click I’ve sent the invitation on Upwork.

6. This information helps us tailor our services to meet your specific needs. Fill out the form and click Next.

Congratulations! Your profile is all set.

Step 3: Inviting Business Manager to Your Account

  1. Log in to your Upwork account

  2. Go to Settings > Members & Permissions and click Invite New Member

  3. Copy and paste the username of the manager you’re inviting (Upwork User ID)

  4. Select the following permissions:

    1. Admin - Set to Full

    2. Business - set to Manager

    3. Agency Contractor - set to Exclusive

  5. Click Invite

  6. Re-enter your password

  7. Click Continue

ℹ️ Info: The update to your permission status may take up to 30 minutes.

You’ll see a pop-up notification once system synchronization is complete.

Now you can create your first Job Search and start Bidding for the best matching jobs.
